Artificial quartz single crystals are grown in autoclaves by hydro-thermal method and with left-handed and right-handed forms. Quartz crystals have a low stress birefringence and a high refractive index uniformity, with a light transmission range of 0.15-4 μm. Quartz crystals, for their piezoelectric properties, low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent mechanical and optical properties, are used in electronic, precision optical and laser technologies, optical communication, X-ray optical.
