Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG) is a special substrate for magneto-optical thin films. GGG single crystal substrates with different tangential directions can be optimally matched with the crystal lattice of YIG and BIG thin film magneto-optical materials, so as to ensure the successful epitaxial growth of YIG and BIG thin films. GGG crystal is also the best substrate material for making microwave isolators.
